NICU

Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides comprehensive neonatal clinical services to meet the complex needs of new born infants through highly experienced neonatologists and neonatal trained nurses. The units are purpose built with family oriented care in mind where babies receive the most modern and evidence based care. It provides privacy for the families to spend time with the babies in a supportive and caring environment.

The service in our NICU is rooted in world class Neonatal care based on principles of ethics, fairness and justice. The unit follows the principle of minimal handling and intervention techniques which is the most advanced form of care that results in the best short and long-term outcome for the babies being cared for here.

The babies leaving the NICU are followed up in the growth and neurodevelopmental clinics on a regular basis to ensure that the health needs of the baby are fulfilled and the family is supported even after discharge.

The Neonatal unit is staffed by Consultant/Specialist Neonatologists, Medical Practitioners and neonatology trained nurses providing the highest quality of medical care. The department provides round-the-clock care to critically ill newborns and premature infants.

All our units practice Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) as the standard mode of supportive care for newborn babies. It is believed that KMC increases intimacy and attachment between baby and parent and help a parent feel connected and helps them recover faster.
